Major Edna Taylor
Major Edna Taylor grew up in West Baltimore. She graduated from Western High School. She also attended Morgan State University.
She began working for the Baltimore City Police Department as an administrative aid May 1965.
In 1968 she went to work for the Federal Government at the Social Security Administration. She held several positions at the National Computer Center to include Computer Specialist Team Leader.
Major Taylor lead the team responsible for the year 2000 testing of all SSA computer programs. For her efforts, she received a presidential award from President Bill Clinton.
She retired in January 2001 with 32 years of Federal Government service joining the Baltimore City Sheriff’s Office in March of that same year as a civilian administrative aid in the Domestic Violence division and held the position of Recruitment Coordinator
Major Taylor is currently the Director of the Administrative Division of the Sheriff’s Office.
